Beibi Gong龚蓓苾

Chinese film and TV star GONG Beibi began her career as a child actress. She graduated from the prestigious Central Drama Academy, where she first gained attention among audiences in China after starring in several popular Chinese and Hong Kong TV series and feature films. After graduating, she continued diversifying her roles with different projects, including Bus 44 (which she also produced), that gained her critical acclaim after it premiered and won awards at the Venice and Sundance Film Festival. Gong starred in Waiting Alone which opened to critical raves at the Tokyo Film Festival. The indie film was released nationwide and became a favorite with audiences across China. Waiting Alone was nominated for several awards including “Best Picture” at the Chinese academy awards. Variety called Beibi’s memorable performance in the film “impressive”. The film has since become widely considered a classic, and is the most critically acclaimed romantic comedy in China to date. Her other film credits include the Hong Kong thriller The Detective 2 alongside Aaron Kwok and Inseparable which she starred in with Kevin Spacey and Daniel Wu. In recent years, Beibi returned to the small screen with several popular TV series including Ice Fantasy, The Flame’s Daughter, and the martial arts wuxia classic Return of the Condor Heroes. On the silver screen, she was in the 2018 box office and critical smash Dying to Survive and won “Best Actress” award at the Beijing Youth Film Festival for the indie drama Lack of Love. Beibi’s more recent film credits include director Ning Hao’s My People, My Country, the 2021 sports drama On Your Mark, and the 2021 Berlin Film Festival winning Summer Blur in which she stars as two of the lead characters. In 2023, Beibi was in the hit ensemble TV series Meet Yourself, playing Liu Yifei's tough yet loving sister. Next up, she stars in the Jia Zhang-Ke produced crime film Heaven and Hell and Li Xiaofeng’s drama Shadow, both arriving in cinemas 2025.
